Contents pitch
I started making my contents page on Photoshop like my front page but the spacing wasn't right and I wasn't happy. So I have now decided to create it on InDesign. InDesign makes it look so much better and it allows me to do more.
Chosen photo
Since the photo on my front page was serious, I decided to make the photo on the contents page fun therefore chose this photo of him smiling. I like this photo as it is different and you wouldn't normally see something like this in a magazine as most photos are serious.

Main story - Possible photos
The main story of my magazine which will be my article, is the one on my front page. I also have to add it into my contents page therefore I had to decide on which photo to use. These were the possible photos. I couldn't decide whether I wanted to use a serious or fun photo so narrowed it down to 3 of each.

Contents page chosen photo
To follow my style model I needed to add lots of photos to my magazine. This was my chosen photo for just one of my main stories. Although the photo looks serious when I was taking the photo I wanted her to act fun and this was one of the shots that grabbed my attention.

Live gig photos
For my contents page I decided to add photos from multiple concerts of festivals. One photo is from the festival T in the park (which will be a section in my magazine) and the other is a photo from Rita Ora's concert.

Front page pitch
I decided to start creating my front page first. I have decided to do this on Adobe's Photoshop as this is what most magazine use to change photos and even make their magazine on. Photoshop is an easy application to use and lets you do some great things to pictures. I want to create my front page first as it will be the starting block to experiment with colour schemes, designs and the layout of my magazine. I will follow my flat plan and also my style model for ideas and to use a guide line.

THE Photo
After looking through all my photos and narrowing them down to 4, I have finally made my decision for the front page photo.
I chose this photo as I have decided to make the fist stand out on the front page. I did this for dramatic effect to make it look like it is 3D, coming out of the page.

Before taking my photos
Before I could even take my photo's I had to plan out what poses that I wanted my models to do and what clothes I actually wanted them to wear. As 'Kai Turner' is an indie artist I wanted him to wear popular indie clothing from lines such as Pretty Green and Fred Perry. I wanted him to look casual and cool.
I took my photographs for the front cover in the schools studio, where we had a green screen set up with professional lighting for us to use. The lighting took quite a lot of fiddling to make sure that there was not going to be any green reflecting onto my models and that the photos weren't blurry or too dark for me to edit.

Title of Magazine
I asked the people that I used for my questionnaire an asked them which magazine name they preferred. The results show that Vibe is the most popular name therefore I will use tis for my magazine.

Double Page - Flat Plan
This is the flat plan of my double page spread. It will be an interview and will include 3 different pictures of the interviewee. This is the main story of my magazine therefore has to be interesting for the audience. The 3 pictures will be of the same person and artist but different poses.
Style Model - Double Page

This is the flat plan for my front page. This also has similarities with my style model front page. The main image will be of my artist and will take up the majority of my magazine front page.

Research - Q Magazine
The magazine usually includes an extensive review section, new releases, music compilations, film and live concert, radio and television reviews. Sometimes promotional gifts are given away in the magazine. Every issue of Q has a different message on the spine. Readers then try to work out what the message has to do with the contents of the magazine. The magazine has a close relationship with the Glastonbury festival. As well as being published as a magazine, Q is now online and has their own website which has similar things that the magazine includes. They can also be found on social network sites such as Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram and YouTube.

Reader Profile
What is a reader profile?
The term “reader profile” is used in several different senses. It can refer to a profile of an individual that includes self-reported information designed to give people a picture of who that person is, a demographic analysis of site users developed by a company for advertisers who want to know if they will be a good fit for that company, or a profile developed by a content creator with the goal of determining who content is being produced for so that it can be tailored for the audience. In all cases, a reader profile provides information about people engaging with online content, and this information can be used to make that content more relevant to the interests of readers.
Publications that want to attract advertisers must also develop reader profiles. The profile provides an overview of demographic information about their readers including age, interests, background, place of residence, and history of interaction with ads. Some of this information is collected through surveys and studies, while other data can be collected from user profiles. Advertisers can look the profile over to see if the readers of a site are a demographic they are interested in engaging with.

Double Page Spread Music Magazine Analysis
I made this powerpoint on emaze to discuss and analyse magazine double page spreads and their typical features. I focused on three magazines and chose one double page spread to pull apart and talk about. I chose different genres of magazines with different audiences to try and see similarities and differences. Despite all being music magazines they all had different audiences. Kerrang focuses on rock music, Q is more varied music and the last magazine is aimed at teenage girls.

Music Magazine Contents Page Analysis
I made this presentation to research and display the ideas I came across when looking for music magazine contents pages. This presentation was created on Prezzi which makes the powerpoint more interactive. I focused on 3 different music magazines; Vibe, NME and Q.

School Magazine Contents Page
This is the contents page to my school magazine. Like the front page I used the same colour scheme to continue this pattern throughout. These colours are also used to link back to the school logo. Using the white font on the dark blue background makes it stand out more and easy to read. I also added two photos to give the reader something else to look at and make it more interesting. These photos were taken by myself and link to the school as they are pupils within school.
